Sept. 3 Ink

Hey I forgot to show y'all something...

Remember the dramatic 5-parter, where I made an emotional reference to a wayward would-be "The One" negro about a tattoo I was planning to get?

Here it go... Got it on 9~3~06. It's on my shoulder blade, on my back. Visible only in tank top weather. Or winter hoochie mode. Or waist-up frolic.

Got it in the Village from some tattoo A-rabs. Was I nervous that he might accidentally write 9~1.1~01? Sure. But it all worked out in the end. Took 15 minutes. Shed some tears. Then went out with Gay Bartender (who helped pick out the font), her girl (who has a sick tat along her shoulder), and Curly (who held my hand the entire time) and got hammered.

Per usual, my siblings are hating. Mom loves it. Dad does too. :)

rofl@ 9 - 11...That would have been sooo wrong. I like that tatt, it's nice and simple. That's how mine is.

So what did you get hammered off of?

Beautiful lettering and your siblings like to cause drama.

So I'm taking it that you and the wayward would-be the one negro are no longer speaking? What? Enquiring minds wanna know.

You are an idiot! A 5th anniversary commemorative tattoo! You should have gotten the Mike Tyson.

Mmmm ur brave to get a tat.

Smart for that location.

Font is dope: simplicity = realness.

MizJJ...Nosy! lol After a year of no contact, me and Dude are cool now. I really wanna hit that, now that my real feelings are out the window...but we dont live in the same place, so oh well. ;)

Jameil...I LOVE old people with tats! Esp colored ones (tattoos that is). hahaha

Ah yo Snick...Dont act like I didnt inspire your first tat. ;) I could have read some names at Groun.d Zero had I got the commemorative. (damn, i'm going to hell for that) But should I get the Tyson in blue or green? lol

CNel...brave woulda been getting a tear drop. lol

Blah...I was being lazy and didnt wanna explain...but I'vve been wanting to get this tat for a year now...hence the story about me telling this to Dude. But it's the date my dad died. :)

I love the tattoo. When I got my butterfly, I wanted to get 9.18.03 arching over it (the date my mom died), but it hurt too much. I keepsaying I'm gonna go back... maybe that will be my birthday present to myself this year

I like the tattoo. I also like the way in which you celebrated. Nothing like getting shitfaced after getting a tattoo.
...Not to say that I have. After I got my tattoo, I came home, ate chicken wings and helped my mom at work.
Not much of a celebration...

the lettering is simple and i love that.

i keep telling my baby sister that she needs to go with me and my other sister to get identical tats in the same place.

That's a great tribute.

That's a hell of a tat. I was gonna get one of a gun, fire, two dogs and a screaming eagle, but now it just seems silly.

Thanks X! Yo, you should go back and get the lettering. Unless it's some elaborate calligraphic font, it wont hurt too bad at all. Mine took all of about 15 minutes. Go for it!

Thank you Stace...this is my second. I got the first one (a symbol of my last name on the inside ankle) on the day of my high school graduation. Then I had the artist come to my grad party and all my friends got em too. :)

Deborah...Well if it' any consolation, after getting drunk I stumbled back to Brooklyn and had chicken wing that we had grilled that day. lol

4Ever...That's dope. I want my siblings to get it too...but a the youngest it's my duty to try to upstage them at every available opportunity. lol

TCas...Thanks! It actually forced me to feel something on a day I'd much rather struggle to ignore. But death is just so damn pervasive...at this point I think it's all about just finding new ways to celebrate...hence the Goose and cran. ;)

KZ...No...it' not silly...if you color it in.

Beautiful...wonderful way to honor him. I have my sisters name tattooed on my side. People always ask who the eff it is...I think they wonder if I'm gay or something...but it's for her cause even in her death I know she is always going to be right by my side!

Sarccatik...Oooooh, get the Hulk smokin a blunt! That's hot. lol

Rev...Well thank you. I was gonna get it on the small of the back, but I recall you or someone that confirmed somewhere in blogland a while back that that's just for tramps. Not classy. lol

RD...That's dope. LOVE that!

SPC...Email me for your consultation. I'll help you get your sexyback. ;)

The tat is nice. But my question is, how in the hell did I miss the five parter? Oh wait, I think I'd just had the baby. I had to go back and read that and was so sad that I'd missed it!
